Attempt to rape : Locals hand over youth to police in Lalmonirhat

Local residents have detained a 7-year-old child while attempting to rape a child and handed him over to the police at night at Doani Pittifata area in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat on Thursday evening.
The arrested Zahurul Molla is the son of Helal Molla of Ashkar village in Agouljhara upazila of Barisal. He works as a worker at a rural phone tower in that area.
Police and witnesses said, Zahurul Molla used to work as a worker at a rural phone tower in Hatibandha. Due to this, he used to visit the child's house. On Thursday evening, the young man Zahurul Molla found the child alone in her own house and forcibly took her to a nearby corn field and tried to rape her.
At that time, the people of the area rushed to the child's screams and arrested the profligate Zahurul Molla and handed him over to the police. The police have sent the tortured child to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital for examination and collection of evidence.
Hatibandha Police Station OC Mahmudun Nabi admitted the incident and said that the young man Zahurul Molla has been arrested on charges of attempted rape.
