Suicide of an old man with a rope around his neck in Lalmohan

Lalmohan upazila of Bhola with a rope around his neck. A 65-year-old mentally challenged man named Oli Ullah committed suicide. The incident took place in Rairabad area of Ward No. 6 of Badarpur Union of Upazila on Thursday night. Old Oli Ullah is the son of deceased Chan Mia of that area.
It is known that the old man was suffering from mental problems for a long time. For this, the family members treated him several times. However, his mental problems did not go away.
On Thursday, the elderly Oli Ullah came out of the house to offer Isha prayer. He did not return home after some time had passed after the prayer. Then the relatives started looking for him. At one stage of the search, his relatives found old Oli Ullah hanging from a tree in a betel nut garden behind the mosque. Later he was lowered down by cutting the rope.
In this regard, Lalmohan Police Station OC SM Mahbub Ul Alam said that after receiving the information, a police team visited the spot and recovered the body at the police station. The old man's body was handed over to his family on Friday morning as there was no complaint. However, a case of wrongful death has been filed in the police station in this incident.
