In Cumilla , a student was killed when a pillar of a seven-story building collapsed in a school classroom. A pillar of an unprotected building on the school collapsed in a tinshaded room of the school. The school teacher was injured.

The accident took place at Noor Ideal School and College of Ward No. 21 of Cumilla City Corporation at 11:15 am. The teacher and student were in the classroom at the time of the accident.

According to the police, the construction work of a seven-storey building is going on next to Noor Ideal School in Noagaon area. A pillar collapsed from the roof of the building and fell on top of the school classroom. He was seriously injured when the pillar cut through the tin of the school and hit the head of the sea.

Locals rescued him and took him to Cumilla Sadar Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead. Doctors said Sagar has serious head and leg injuries. Grieving father Md Ali Hossain said next to the body of his child at Cumilla Sadar Hospital, I ran quickly after hearing about the accident. I came and saw that my son was gone. He went to school today and didn't come back.

After visiting the scene, Cumilla Sadar South Circle ASP Emranul Hossain Maruf said that the seven-storey building under construction was running their work illegally. Initially, it appears that the pillar fell on the school and killed the student due to lack of safety fence during the construction work. I have also learned that the same school teacher is injured in this incident. Action will be taken against those responsible for the incident.
