8 days after the abduction in Pirgacha Upazila of Rangpur, the police recovered the half-melted body of a 10th class madrasa student named Rubel Mia (15).

In this incident, the police have arrested two people named Hasan Ali alias Apple and Sohag, brother-in-law of the deceased. Rubel Mia's father filed a general diary (GD) with the names of three people at the Metropolitan Mahiganj police station last June 3 afternoon.

According to the police sources, based on the information given by the detained brother-in-law Hasan Ali, the police recovered the half-melted body from a paddy field of Madakpara village of Kalyani Union of Pirgacha Upazila on Monday, June 10 at around 9:30 PM. Deceased Rubel Mia is the son of Belal Hossain of Taltala village.

According to police and family sources, Rubel went missing after leaving home on June 2 at around 9 pm. Father Belal Hossain filed a general diary (GD) at the Metropolitan Mahiganj police station on June 3 afternoon after not finding the ruble. According to the diary, the brother-in-law of the deceased Hasan Ali alias Apple was arrested on Monday afternoon as a suspect. Later, after preliminary interrogation, Rubel Mia's body was recovered and sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital morgue based on the information given by her.

Belal Hossain, the father of the deceased Rubel, said that his son Rubel Mia left home around 9 pm on June 2 to attend a class at a computer training center in the local Baradarga market. He did not return home after that. In this incident, a general diary (GD) was made with the names of three people at the Metropolitan Mahiganj police station on June 3 at noon.

Rangpur Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Utpal Kumar Roy said that after the abduction, Rubel's sister-in-law Hasan Ali alias Apple demanded Tk 15 lakh from various mobile phone numbers. The family has claimed that Rubel was killed by slitting his throat due to a family dispute. It is expected that the real mystery will be revealed when the autopsy report is available.
