Patuakhali District Superintendent of Police has formed a special monitoring team to eliminate vandalism and arson during the blockade programme called by BNP-Jamaat.

All law enforcement agencies including Patuakhali District Administration, Traffic Department, RAB, Magistrate, Ansar and BGB are working with Patuakhali District Police.

Superintendent of Police of Patuakhali District Md Saidul Islam BPM PPM on Monday told this to the journalists while inspecting the highway police and traffic policing activities at the crossroads of Patuakhali at 12:00 noon on November 13.

There is no such thing as blockade in Patuakhali, all types of traffic, buses and trucks are normal.

On the seventh day of the blockade, all types of public transport and truck movement with Patuakhali-Dhaka and other districts are normal and all cars are coming from Dhaka as well. Public life of people including shops and business establishments is normal. Strict legal action will be taken if arson is caused in the name of blockade. Adequate police presence at important establishments along the highway. Night patrolling has been strengthened with regular 24-hour patrolling police.

Regular cross patrolling is being done on all highways. All the residents of Patuakhali are helping the police to control the blockade. Day-to-day law and order situation remains normal. All the senior police officers are regularly working in the field along with the juniors during the blockade. All senior officers including Superintendent of Police are always present day and night to ensure highway safety. Regular supervision is encouraging force officers.

During the inspection of the highway, the Superintendent of Police was accompanied by the Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle), Mohammad Sajedul Islam Sajal, Inspector of Police (Traffic Division) Md Salah Uddin Kajal and other officers of Patuakhali District Police were present.
