In the 12th national election, two members of Parliament have been excluded from the nomination of Awami League for four parliamentary seats in Kurigram.

Awami League did not give party nomination to Zakir Hossain, the current Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education in Kurigram-4 seat and the current Member of Parliament of Kurigram-3 Constituency M.A. Matin was also left out of the nomination list. Boatman Soumendra Prasad Pandey is in this seat.

On Sunday , Bangladesh Awami League announced the names of the candidates nominated for the boat ticket in the 12th National Parliament election. At 4 pm, the party's general secretary Obaidul Quader announced the names of the nominated candidates on the boat ticket at the central office of Bangabandhu Avenue.

Earlier, 16 local leaders filed a written complaint against party president Sheikh Hasina not to nominate Zakir Hossain in Kurigram-4 constituency.

They requested to nominate any candidate against Zakir Hossain in the application. Recently, they gave a letter signed by 16 people including the upazila president, general secretary to the party office.

Meanwhile, current member of parliament Achlam Hossain Saudagar has been nominated for Kurigram-1 (Nageshwari-Bhurungamari) seat. Former Member of Parliament has been nominated for Kurigram-2 (Kurigram Sadar, Rajarhat and Phulbari) seats. Zafar Ali. He was the Zilla Parishad Chairman. He resigned from the post of Zilla Parishad before buying party nomination papers. Soumendra Prasad Pandey Gaba has been nominated for Kurigram-3 (Ulipur) seat.

Young leader Adv Biplab Hasan Palash has received party nomination of Awami League for Kurigram-4 constituency. He is a member of the sub-committee on information and research of Bangladesh Awami League. Palash was the by-law affairs secretary of Central Chhatra League and a member of Awami League.

After completing his studies from Dhaka University, Palash is working as a lawyer in Bangladesh Supreme Court.
