State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku stated that illicit drugs are being intentionally smuggled into Bangladesh from neighboring countries India and Myanmar as part of a conspiracy to undermine the nation's youth.

Addressing an anti-drug and anti-dengue rally as chief guest at the Taj Palace International Convention Center in Kalindi under Keraniganj upazila on Thursday afternoon.

He  called for united societal resistance to eliminate drug trafficking and safeguard future generations. The Keraniganj Upazila Administration organized the event under the theme, "Not drugs; let education, sports, and creativity be the strength of youth."

State Minister Sultan Salauddin Tuku emphasized that Bangladesh possesses no internal narcotics factories, highlighting that illicit substances enter illegally across international borders to systematically compromise the physical and social potential of young citizens. Expressing deep concern over rising addiction rates in specific regions, he urged students, educators, and guardians to remain vigilant while maintaining clean domestic environments to prevent Aedes mosquito breeding and vector-borne diseases like dengue. 

Presided over by Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Ms. Farida Khanom, the assembly was attended by special guests including Dhaka District Additional Superintendent of Police Tarikul Islam and Dhaka District BNP Organizing  Secretary Barrister Irfan Ibn Aman Ami. Department of Narcotics Control Deputy Director Shamsul Alam, Keraniganj Circle Assistant Commissioner (Land) Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, Keraniganj Model Police Station OC Ruhul Kuddus, and local administrative officials were also present, with Keraniganj UNO  Md. Omar Faruk supervised  the event.
