State Minister Sultan Salauddin Tuku addresses anti-drug rally in Keraniganj

An awareness rally aimed at preventing dengue fever and curbing illicit drug abuse was held at the Taj Palace Convention Hall in Keraniganj under Dhaka district on Thursday.
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku attended the public awareness gathering as the chief guest, while Dhaka District BNP Organizational Secretary Irfan Ibn Aman Omi was present as a special guest. The rally commenced at 3:00 PM under the chairmanship of Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Ms. Farida Khanam.
Overall supervision of the program was maintained by Keraniganj UNO. Md. Umar Farooq, with Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Abdus Sattar Baig moderating the discussion. Additional Superintendent of Police Tarikul Islam, Department of Narcotics Control Deputy Director Md. Shamsul Alam, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, and Nayabazar Degree College Principal Abdul Malek Mia delivered key addresses, alongside recovering drug users and family members affected by narcotics dependency.
Speakers emphasized integrated social efforts to eradicate Aedes mosquito breeding sites and eliminate drug trafficking. State Minister Sultan Salauddin Tuku and administrative speakers highlighted that individual household cleanliness, youth awareness, rehabilitation support, and decisive legal actions against drug syndicates are vital to building a healthy, drug-free community. Political leaders, civil society representatives, teachers, students, and local religious leaders attended the event.
