Coast Guard detained three criminals with firearms, ammunition in Tajumuddin

Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel arrested three targeted criminals alongside a cache of domestic firearms, ammunition, and sharp weapons during an early morning raid in Tajumuddin upazila of Bhola district on Monday.
The media officer of Coast Guard Headquarters, Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon, confirmed the operation in a press release on Monday morning.
According to Coast Guard sources, an operational team from Coast Guard Base Bhola conducted a specialized intelligence-led raid in the area adjacent to Muktijoddha Bazar under Char Mozammel in Tajumuddin upazila between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM on Monday.
During the operation, security personnel searched three suspicious residential premises, resulting in the recovery of two local firearms, one country-made pipe gun, three rocket flares, 15 rounds of pistol ball ammunition, two rounds of live cartridges, one round of rifle ball ammunition, and four native sharp weapons.
The three arrested individuals were identified as Abbas Majhi, 46, Md. Alamgir, 43, and Md. Alamgir Hossain, 41, all residents of Tajumuddin upazila in Bhola district. Coast Guard officials stated that the detainees face multiple existing criminal charges in local police stations. Legal proceedings to hand over the arrested suspects and seized armaments to local law enforcement agencies have been taken.
