
State Minister Mohib beside Sylhet flood victims : Relief will continue till receding water

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md. Mohibbur Rahman MP has stood by the flood victims of Sylhet.
He visited several flood-affected areas of the city throughout the day on Wednesday and distributed relief at the Mirabazar Kishori Mohan Boys Vidyalaya shelter.
Seeing the flood situation in the city, the State Minister immediately provided Tk 10 lakh cash, 100 metric tons of rice and 2000 packets of dry food as relief aid.
While talking to the journalists after distribution of relief, he said that Bangladesh is a disaster prone area. Sylhet region is one of them. Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Md. Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury is always in touch with us. Called me on the day of Eid and informed about the flood. Hon'ble Prime Minister is closely monitoring the flood situation in Sylhet and he is constantly monitoring it.
Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury expressed his gratitude to the State Minister of Disaster and Relief Ministry Md. Mohibbur Rahman and said that since the flood situation of Sylhet appeared, the cooperation of the government has continued. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is keeping the flood news. The city corporation is distributing dry food as well as cooked food to the shelters. Our relief assistance will continue until the water recedes.
Former Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Minister and Member of Parliament for Sylhet-4 Constituency Imran Ahmed, Disaster and Relief Ministry Secretary Kamrul Islam, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Abu Ahmad Siddiqui, NDC, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Russell Hasan, Sylhet City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Md. Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and others were present.
