State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, emphasized the need to build secure, well-planned, and eco-friendly tourism infrastructure to fully harness the potential of Bangladesh's tourism sector.

The State Minister made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest a views-exchange meeting titled "Prospects of Bangladesh's Tourism Industry and Actions for Its Development" held at the Shoilopropat Auditorium of Parjatan Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Monday.

Addressing the session, Barrister Mir Helal stressed the importance of ensuring seamless movement and robust security for domestic and international tourists, stating that the government will deploy additional trained Tourist Police and Naval Police personnel as needed.

Focusing on the tourism potential of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) region, the State Minister highlighted that Rangamati, Bandarban, and Khagrachhari possess vast opportunities for eco-tourism, cultural tourism, and adventure tourism due to their natural landscapes and diverse ethnic heritage. 

Presided over by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairman Md. Samimuzzaman, the meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister A B M Abdus Sattar as the guest of honor. Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Secretary Fahimda Akhter, NDC, and Planning Commission Industry and Power Division Member (Secretary) Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury also addressed the event alongside tourism sector stakeholders who called for international-standard services and improved regional transport networks.
