Star candidate Momtaz lost to Dewan Zahid Ahmed Tulu

In Manikganj-2 constituency, star candidate, popular singer Momtaz Begum lost to industrialist independent candidate Dewan Zahid Ahmed Tulu with truck symbol. In Manikganj-1 constituency, independent candidate Zahirul Alam Rubel, supported by Awami League and nominated by Jatiya Party, lost to Salahuddin Mahmud Zahid of Eagle symbol. Meanwhile, Zahid Malek Swapan, the candidate of the health minister boat, won the Manikganj-3 constituency.
Voting is open from 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday (January 7). Manikganj District Returning Officer and District Commissioner Rehena Akter announced the election results at 11:30 pm after the counting.
The winner of Manikganj-1 seat is Salauddin Mahmud Zahid (independent), his votes are 86,941. His nearest rival-Mohammed Zahirul Alam Rubel (National Party), his polled votes-38,942.
Winner of Manikganj-2 Constituency- Zahid Ahmed Tulu (Independent), Votes received by him- 88, 309. His closest rival-Momtaz Begum (Awami League), got 82, 138 votes.
Winner of Manikganj-3 Constituency- Zahid Malek (Awami League), Votes received by him-1,26,720. His closest rival - Mofizul Islam Khan Kamal (Gonforum), got 5,391 votes.
