
Srimangal Municipality budget announced

Srimangal Municipality has announced a budget of Tk 555.75 million for the 2025-26 financial year.
The budget was announced by Administrator and UNO Md. Islam Uddin at the Mohsin Auditorium of the municipality on Tuesday afternoon.
The budget includes Tk 31.9 million for the development sector and Tk 24.48 million for the revenue sector. Among the expenses, Tk 8.1 million has been allocated for establishment, Tk 2.0 million for education, Tk 2.12 million for health and sanitation, Tk 2.92 million for water supply, Tk 1.97 million for dengue-corona and drain-sewer cleaning.
In addition, Tk 1 million has been allocated for street lights, Tk 2 million for relief, Tk 3.5 million for women's development, Tk 5 million for training, Tk 5 million for sports and culture, and Tk 1.4 million for traffic congestion relief. These expenses have been shown as income from the municipality's own funds and donations. Besides, a surplus of 55 lakh 93 thousand taka was shown in the last financial year.
At this time, the executive engineer of the municipality, Zahirul Islam, Upazila engineer Md. Yusuf Hossain Khan, Upazila health and family planning officer Dr. Cynthia Tasnim, Upazila BNP convener Nurul Alam Siddiqui, BNP leader Maqbul Hossain, Municipal BNP convener Shamim Ahmed, joint convener Rashedul Hasan Master, members Syed Salauddin, Sablu Ahmed, Mobarak Hossain, Victoria High School headmaster Ayan Chowdhury, journalist SK Das Sumon and various political and civic figures of the city were present. NGO MAC Bangladesh, Rising for Rights Project were in overall support in announcing this budget.
