Senior politician Ashraf Hossain Khoka (80), former president of Sreebardi Upazila Awami League and former chairman of Upazila Parishad, is no more.

He breathed his last after cardiac arrest at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Friday night. (Innalillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun) left behind a wife, 3 sons and 1 daughter along with a lot of wealth at the time of his death.

The funeral prayers of the deceased were held on Saturday (January 20) at 2.30 pm at the Srivardi Government College ground. Hundreds of people attended his event. After the funeral, burial took place in the family cemetery. He was associated with Awami politics for 40 years.

It is known that Ashraf Hossain Khoka has fulfilled the responsibility of general secretary and president of Chhatra League, Jubo League, Bangladesh Awami League Srivardi upazila branch. Besides, he was the Chairman of Srivardi Sadar Union Parishad and twice elected Chairman of Upazila Parishad. His death cast a shadow of mourning in Srivardi upazila. Srivardi upazila lost a guardian in his death.
