Spring arrival programme held in Sreepur

A festival titled “Spring arrival sound” was celebrated at Sreepur Muktijoddha Rahmat Ali Government College in Gazipur to welcome spring.
The event, which lasted from 9 am to 6 pm on Tuesday, featured an exhibition of various local products, a pitha festival, a writer-reader gathering, cultural programs and Baul music as a special attraction.
The festival was officially inaugurated by the college principal Professor Piara Nargis at around 11 am with the national anthem. Earlier, the convener of the event and the secretary of the teachers’ council, Mohammad Abu Bakker Siddique Akhand, described the overall theme of the festival. Later, poetry recitation, songs and entertainment programs were presented under the management of the teachers’ council treasurer Mofizul Islam Bulbul and Bengali department lecturer Momtaz Mahal.
The guest of honor was Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam Bachchu, no 1 Joint Convener of Gazipur District BNP and Joint Health Secretary of Central BNP, BNP leader Md. Azad Mandal, President of College Branch Chhatra Dal Imran Mridha, General Secretary Nazmul Hasan, Student Leader Nayeem, etc.
Pithas, student-made crafts, handmade rural handicrafts, books, digital corner and various presentations of the information center were displayed at 18 stalls in the festival. Later, poetry recitation and cultural programs were performed with the participation of college students. Mujib Pardeshi, Lalon artist Towhid Shah, Baul artist Jewel Sarkar performed music in the musical program.
