The fertile soil of the crop land of Amtali upazila of Barguna is in brickwork. Farmers are selling the soil after the temptation of brickwork contractors.

Amtali Upazila Agriculture Officer Isha Iqbal said that the above 3-5 inches to the top of the agricultural land contains chemical material on the surface of the soil. On Thursday, Raibala, Fakirbari, Bandra, Khalian, Ghatkhali, Kalibari and Kukuar Azimpur were spotted on Thursday, the workers were cutting the soil to various bricks by burning trawlers and trolleys.

Tractor driver Md. Musha said, "I am taking the tractor of the BBC brick kiln by cutting the soil of agricultural land." The land is being destroyed in the sale of agricultural land but the landowners understand that the contractor is selling the soil due to the money of the contractor.

Farmer Nazrul Islam said, last year, I made a mistake by selling the soil of crop land. That land did not produce good crops this year.

Mahbub Mridha, owner of MBM brick kiln in Raybala village, refused to cut the ground from the land and said, "We buy the soil as a foot of Tk 5 from the contractor." They pass through the brick -and -mortar tract. I do not know where the contractor collects the soil.

Md. Mozammel Howlader, the contractor of the soil, said, "I am buying the soil at a rate of 5 to four and a half feet from the farmers and selling it at the brick kiln at a rate of Rs. Amtali Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Ashraful Alam said that the landowners are selling the soil for not understanding the crop -cut crop. Legal action will be taken on the news.
