Gafargaon ( Mymensingh) Correspondent

Actor Samu Chowdhury was lying like this under a banyan tree on the side of the road of Mukhi Shah Miskin Shrine in Gafargaon, Mymensingh on Thursday.

Posting this picture of him lying down, someone wrote, ‘It seems that he has lost his mental balance. I am drawing the attention of his relatives or close loved ones. If you want to help this great person in the film industry, please share it so that he can reach his loved ones safely.’

This picture of Samu Chowdhury went viral immediately. Many thought it was a photo from the shooting. But it was not, Samu Chowdhury was actually lying under the shrine due to mental illness. However, he was rescued from there by the nearby Pagla police station.

The Actors’ Association said that efforts are being made to bring him to Dhaka quickly.

Rashed Mamun Apu, General Secretary of the Actors’ Association, confirmed the truth of the incident and said, ‘We rescued Samu from the shrine through the nearby Pagla police station administration and brought him to safe custody.  We have a team from Dhaka. We are arranging for him to be brought to Dhaka as soon as possible for treatment.’

Samu Chowdhury is mentally ill. He had left home like this before. Rashed Mamun Apu said in this regard, ‘Samu did this under mental stress. Such incidents have happened before too.’
