Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder termed the current government as the government of the poor and Sheikh Hasina as the poor-friendly prime minister.

The food minister mentioned this in his speech as the chief guest at the meeting with the beneficiaries under the social safety net of the present government at Khanjanpur Girls' High School at Sapahar in Naogaon constituency on Tuesday.

Food minister said, Sheikh Hasina has given electricity to every house. It is difficult to find a house without electricity connection in villages or towns. The government has delivered electricity to the homes of all people regardless of party or opinion. No one has been deprived of the benefits of electricity because of BNP-Jamaat. The development has reached the grass root level because of the efforts of the government. If there is continuity of development, the development of the country will be sustainable. At this time, he urged Sheikh Hasina to vote in the next election.

Agriculture is the main strength of Bangladesh economy. Majority of national income comes from agriculture. As a result, the government has taken various programs from time to time with the aim of modernizing the farming system and making it more productive. The Food Minister mentioned that they are encouraging modern farming by providing various incentives including fertilizers, tractors and irrigation at subsidized prices. In 2014 and 2018, a group burned hundreds of cars. Wasted the wealth of the country.

Under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the government has passed the corona period efficiently. Then the Russia-Ukraine war also hampered our development.

The Minister further said, no other government could have done the development that Sheikh Hasina has done. Food minister also mentioned that BNP could not make any development in the country. He said, they will not come to vote. They will try to disrupt the vote but will not succeed. He mentioned that any attempt to disrupt the vote will be resisted.

At that time Sapahar Upazila Awami League President Md. Shamsul Alam Shah Chowdhury, General Secretary Masud Reza Sarwar and Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Sahjahan Hossain spoke as special guests on the occasion.

Earlier, the Food Minister inaugurated the newly- constructed 4-storey academic building of Voile High School and College.
