
Seminar on Japan Foundation Fellowship held at DU

A seminar titled “Japan Foundation Indo-Pacific Partnership Program (JFIPP) Fellowship” was held at Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium on Sunday jointly organized by Dhaka University, Tokyo Pan-Asia Research Institute and Japan Foundation.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha was the chief guest and Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury was present as the special guest.
The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Taiyebur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Mr. Koji Sato, Director of the Japan Foundation, and Mr. Yuji Ando, President of the Pan-Asia Research Institute, spoke as the guests of honor.
The keynote address was presented by Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Associate Professor of the Department of Japanese Studies, Dhaka University. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Dilruba Sharmin, Chairperson of the Department of Japanese Studies. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Tarek Rafi Bhuiyan, Vice President of Pan-Asia Research Institute.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha said, Bangladesh and Japan have enjoyed friendly relations for a long time. She expressed hope that this friendly relationship between the two countries will be further strengthened through the fellowship program.
