Muksudpur (Gopalganj) Correspondent 

  An inaugural discussion meeting and ceremony were held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium in Muksudpur under the initiative of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Muksudpur Upazila, aiming to increase cultivation and production of transplanted Aman (Ufshi) crops in the 2024-25 Kharif-2 season under the agricultural incentive program through the free distribution of seeds and chemical fertilizers to small and marginal farmers at 2:00 PM on Wednesday.

The chief guest at the event was Dr. Md. Moktar Hossain, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Muksudpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tasnim Akter.

Special guest was Abdul Kader Sardar, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Khamarbari, Gopalganj.
The welcome speech was delivered by Muksudpur Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md. Bahauddin Sheikh.
The event was conducted by Upazila Additional Agriculture Officer Munmun Saha.

Also present at the event were Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Ayesha Siddiqui, Upazila Assistant Agriculture Extension Officer Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Plant Protection Officer Ruhul Quddus Ahmed, Muksudpur Press Club President Md. Shiru Mia, and General Secretary Kazi Md. Ohidul Islam, among others.

Muksudpur Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md. Bahauddin Sheikh informed that this year, under the agricultural incentive program for the 2024-25 Kharif-2 season in Muksudpur Upazila, in order to increase the cultivation and production of transplanted Aman (Ufshi) crops, a total of 276 small and marginal farmers from 1 municipality and 16 unions of the upazila are each receiving 5 kg of transplanted Aman paddy seed, 10 kg of DAP, and 10 kg of MOP chemical fertilizers.
