Sampriti Aid Foundation organises project orientation workshop in Muksudpur

A project orientation workshop titled “Collective Action for Reinforcing Gender-Responsive Climate Justice and Resilience Policies in Bangladesh” was held on Monday at  the initiative of Sampriti Aid Foundation.

Upazila Family Planning Officer Rakibul Islam Tushar attended the workshop as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Shubhra Shikdar, Director of the Sampriti Disability Research and Rehabilitation Institute, and jointly moderated by Sampriti Aid Foundation advisory board members Luis Rana Gain and Setu Sutradhar.

 Shahriar Bulbul, Manager of IFIC Bank's Tekerhat branch; Mizanur Rahman Manik, General Secretary of the District Anti-Corruption Committee and journalist; Md. Shiru Mia, President of Muksudpur Press Club; Kazi Md. Ohidul Islam, General Secretary of Muksudpur Press Club; Father David Ghorami of the Jhalirpar Baniarchar Purohit Catholic Church; and Sameer Kanti Shakhari, Principal of Jhalirpar Bangaratna College were special guests. 

Also present were Sampriti Aid Foundation Executive Director Shabharanjan Shikdar and Project Coordinator Masumbillah Sohag. Attendees included officials from various government departments, educators, journalists, union council representatives, executive directors and representatives of various NGOs, religious leaders from different faiths, and individuals with disabilities (persons with special needs).

At the outset, Executive Director Shabharanjan Shikdar outlined the goals, objectives, and activities of both the Sampriti Aid Foundation and the “Collective Action for Reinforcing Gender-Responsive Climate Justice and Resilience Policies in Bangladesh” project, as well as the Sampriti Disability Research and Rehabilitation Institute.

Later, service recipients from the Sampriti Disability Research and Rehabilitation Institute shared their experiences and insights on the services they received.

Distinguished guests, religious leaders, NGO representatives, and elected public representatives also spoke at the event.

In his address, Chief Guest Rakibul Islam Tushar emphasized, “The climate and environment are essential for our way of life. In this critical time of global climate change, we must all work together to protect the environment.” He called on everyone to assist in implementing the project.

He also lauded Sampriti Aid Foundation’s initiative in supporting and rehabilitating persons with disabilities and wished them continued success.

The event was emceed with professionalism and a commitment to inclusivity.
