
Sami nominated for Meena Media Awards in Sylhet

The child journalist of Hello.bdnews24.comTajul Islam Sami. has been nominated for Meena Media Award-2023. Since 2005, the United Nations Children's Fund-UNICEF has been giving this award to recognize excellence in 'Child Rights' reports. Chhami has been nominated in 2022 as well. This year 2023 only 5 people have been nominated out of more than 1000 applications. Child journalist of Dakshin Surma Upazila of Sylhet has been nominated among these five people. Tajul Islam Sami.
It is learnt 'Sami and 19 other children participated in the training workshop on child journalism on December 17 and 18, 2021 in Sylhet organized by Hello.bdnews24.com, the world's first child journalism site in Bangladesh. Launched in 2013, this site is managed by the country's first internet newspaper bdnews24.com. And in partnership is the United Nations Children's Fund-UNICEF.
When asked about his feelings after being nominated, Sami said, 'I am very happy to be nominated for Meena Media Award-2023. Everyone is happy including my parents. I never dreamed that I too would be nominated. Besides studying, I am very interested in writing. Being nominated has increased my motivation to write. Thank you to everyone who has helped me come this far.'
