Sale of red and green flags increased in Habiganj

Red and green flags are being sold in remote areas including Baniachong upazila headquarters. Various sizes of national flags are carried on the shoulders of the hawkers.

Ahead of the Great Victory Day on December 16, some are traveling miles to hand over this national flag. This is like a pull of the soul. This red green flag is reaching the hands of people of different ages walking from one end of the country to the other end.

Signs of victory are flying on the path of the red and green hawkers all around.
Similarly, two sellers have come to Baniachong from far away B Baria to sell this flag. He is selling this flag of emotion after walking so far behind.

Taking this flag on their shoulders, they not only chose the path of livelihood, through this profession, patriotism and the memory of the liberation war were revealed.

Golam Mustafa, the flag seller, talked about this. He proudly said that he came to this area in the beginning of December to sell the national flag. The demand for national flags is high everywhere. Everyone is now interested in buying red-green ribbons. He also said that he could not study due to lack of family. Although not a freedom fighter, I have heard the story of the war from the mouths of others. Three million people gave their lives. 2 lakh mothers and sisters lost their dignity in this war of liberation. It is an honor to be able to sell that flag for so much.

On Tuesday (December 12) at 10:30 a.m., while selling flags at the intersection of three roads in Baniachong Barabazar, this reporter spoke with Rakib, a 6th grade student of a local high school, son of Kamal Hossain of Matapur Mohalla, North East Union of Baniachong 1.

He said he sold a flag of 6 feet by 3 and a half feet for 150 to 200 taka. Apart from this, the price of each 1 foot stick flag is 10 to 15 taka. 5 feet by 3 feet flag price 100 to 150 taka. He sells hand and head bands for 10 to 20 takas. Flag seller Rakib also said that he was studying at other times. Now that the school is closed, the flags are being sold.

When asked how the sales are, Rakib said that 14 to 15 flags of various sizes can be sold throughout the day from 9 am to evening. 700 to 800 takas can be earned at the end of the day.

All those who sell these flags are seasonal flag sellers. Although he is engaged in other professions throughout the year, he comes down to selling flags on different days.

On the occasion of Victory Day, International Mother Language Day and Independence Day, red and green flags are raised in remote areas of Baniachong. Especially when the victory month of December and the independence day of the tumultuous month of March come, the sense of patriotism is awakened in the hearts of Bengalis.

Everything is excited by the love of the colors of the flag. Not only the national flag, but also the red and green touches can be seen in the clothing. The whole nation became excited with red and green, the symbol of our freedom. This flag teaches us to speak for the country and the people. By making us known to the world as an independent sovereign and fearless nation, we are encouraged to stand up and stand tall.
