Sadiq did not get AL nomination in Barishal-5,Pankaj lost in-5

Awami League has chosen new faces in four of the six constituencies of Barishal district. In the other two, the party has relied on the old ones.
In the Barishal-5 (Sadar) Constituency, current Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Water Resources Zaheed Farooque Shamim has been nominated. As a result, the former mayor of Barishal City Corporation, Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, who was controversial for various reasons, did not seek nomination for this seat.
After not being nominated for the post of mayor, Barisal district Awami League president Abul Hasanat Abdullah, son of influential leader, collected the nomination form for the post of member of parliament. But even there the team did not trust him.
However, Abul Hasanat Abdullah got party nomination for Barishal-1 constituency. No other party has collected nominations in this seat. As a result, his nomination was almost certain.
Apart from this, Pankaj Nath, a two-time Member of Parliament of Barisal-4 Constituency, also lost his nomination. Awami League's Central Committee's International Affairs Secretary Shammi Ahmed has been nominated by the party instead of the former General Secretary of the Volunteer League's Central Committee.
The daughter of brave freedom fighter and former president of Barisal district Awami League, Member of Parliament Mohiuddin Ahmed, has for the first time contested the constituency comprising of Hijla and Mehendiganj upazilas.
The list of 298 candidates nominated by Awami League was announced at the Bangabandhu Avenue party office in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
After announcing the candidature of six constituencies in Barisal district, the party leaders and workers took out a joyous procession. The followers of the candidates expressed their joy by bursting crackers, playing music and distributing sweets.
