Russian Flag Day celebration, painting competition and award distribution and interesting cultural programs are organized in Ishwardi.

The event was organized by Students and Alumni Association of Bangladesh and Friends of Russia under the auspices of Diego International at Swapnadwip Resort in Ishwardi from Thursday morning to evening. In the organized program students drawing and quiz competition, prize distribution, discussion meeting and cultural programs were organized. With the cooperation of Soviet Alumni Association Bangladesh (SAAB) and Russian House of Dhaka and Russian Embassy in Dhaka, about four hundred students and teachers of 40 primary and secondary schools of Ishwardi participated in this event.

With CIP Engineer Alamgir Jalil, Chairman of People's University of Russia Alumni and Friends Association in the chair , former Minister and Councilor of Russian Embassy in Dhaka, Andrey Starkov, was present as the chief guest.

Pavel Dvoichenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, Rubleva Yulina of the Russian Embassy, professor of Ulab University and research professor of National Defense College were present as special guests.

Ramit Azad, central leader of BNP former MP and freedom fighter Sirajul Islam Sardar, Chairman of Khairul Group of Industry Alhaj Khairul Islam, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Upazila Health Complex Dr. Shafiqul Islam Shamim were also present.

Speaking about the friendly relations between Russia and Bangladesh, the speaker said that Russia has always been a trusted friend of Bangladesh.

The Soviet Union was on the side of the war of independence in 1971. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Bangladesh's bilateral relations with its successor state, Russia, are ongoing. Based on this relationship, Ruppur nuclear power project is on the way to implementation today.
