Robbery in house of Army member in identity of DB in Kamalganj

A robbery has taken place at the house of an army man with the identity of DB police.

The incident took place on Monday evening in West Baghbari Manipuri neighborhood of Madhavpur Union of Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar.

Locals said that since the house was quiet, on Monday evening (November 6), two masked men entered the house of Sunil Singh, an army member currently working in the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) of West Baghbari village, posing as DB police. Meanwhile, his old father Chandra Singh (75), mother Krishna Kumari Sinha (55) and aunt Rajkumari Sinha (50) were held hostage at gunpoint, tied hands and feet and robbed the house of gold ornaments, mobile sets and cash.

After their departure, Sunil Singh's parents screamed and the locals came forward and found them barricaded inside the house, later they narrated the incident to the locals. A team of police led by Kamalganj Police Station OC Sanjay Chakraborty and local UP Chairman Asid Ali visited the spot.

Confirming the matter, Kamalganj Police Station OC Sanjoy Chakraborty said, "It is not a robbery, but an adventurous theft." The case is under process. The operation is continuing to quickly identify and arrest those involved.
