At least 13 tin houses, kitchens, tin toilets were reported to have collapsed in Lakshmipur's Raipur due to cyclone Remal. These structures made of tin were destroyed in Charkachia, Chayal Bazar, Mierhat, Charghansia and Charkhasia in the pasture area of the upazila.

On Monday (May 27), Remal ransacked the Meghna banks of Raipur in the district throughout the day. Hundreds of trees, including rain trees, fell in the strong wind. Power poles collapsed in several areas. The entire upazila lost electricity, the water supply of the municipality was stopped.

The communication system is down. The day after Cyclone Remal hit (May 28) almost 45 hours later, electricity was restored to most areas. As of writing this report, electricity supply has been stopped in several areas including Charjalia of the upazila. More than five hundred people have been trapped in the water. No loss of life was reported the day after the cyclone. However, at least twenty people were injured.

Last Monday, a raintree fell in the residence of a person named Hossain Majhi next to the embankment in Ward No. 6 of North Char Bangshi UP. No one was injured. On Tuesday, Hossain Majhi said, suddenly heard a loud noise We left the room as soon as we heard the sound. The house is broken. I informed the UP member and UP Chairman. They said they will tell the big sirs. I am in a lot of trouble.

UP Chairman Abul Hossain said, I am getting reports of house collapse since Monday. Trying to provide the necessary support. A few families have been given dry food assistance.

On the other hand, South CharBangshi UP Chairman Abu Zafar has confirmed that he has received reports of several house poles being opened and destroyed in water-logged areas.

Raipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Imran Khan said, I have received reports of breaking some houses. There are local representatives. I will take necessary measures after knowing the total number. For now, instructions have been given to those concerned for food assistance.
