Stating that Bangladesh's foreign policy will be guided by mutual respect rather than subservience, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir has affirmed that Dhaka is willing to advance bilateral ties with India provided New Delhi shows sincerity in fulfilling conditions set by the Bangladesh government.

He made the remarks at 12:30 PM on  Saturday  while addressing a welfare distribution program at the Osmaninagar Upazila Parishad premises, where food items and clothing were distributed to underprivileged families.

Presided over by UNO Munmun Nahar Asha and moderated by Upazila Statistical Officer Subrata Ranjan Hajra, the event served as a platform for the State Minister to outline the country's diplomatic stance.

Humayun Kabir stated that India must cooperate in extraditing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other Awami League leaders currently residing in the neighboring country. He added that if the Indian government demonstrates sincerity toward meeting Bangladesh's key terms, opportunities remain open to take bilateral relations forward.

Reiterating that national sovereignty and strategic interests remain paramount, the State Minister emphasized that Bangladesh seeks equal partnerships with all nations. He noted that should India respond positively to Bangladesh's diplomatic demands, the Prime Minister could undertake a visit to India at an appropriate time.

Turning to local administration, Humayun Kabir highlighted ongoing development projects in Osmaninagar, including plans to upgrade Goalabazar and Tajpur Bazar into municipalities. He urged all political factions and residents to cooperate on infrastructure initiatives for the collective benefit of the constituency.

District and upazila administration officials, local political leaders, and community representatives were present at the program.
