Awami League nominated candidate for Rangpur 1 (Gangachra - Ward 1-7 of Rangpur City) in the 12th National Assembly elections and the former successful General Secretary of the district Awami League Rezaul Karim Raju was welcomed with thousands of leaders and activists.

From Tuesday morning, thousands of leaders and activists started gathering at Syedpur Airport. As soon as he reached at 2:25 PM, the leaders and activists greeted the beloved leader with flowers.

After that, the activists took Rezaul Karim Raju to Gangachara from Syedpur in a huge fleet of cars and motorcycle showdown. At this time, the leaders and activists greeted each union with flowers and slogans in the bazaars and intersections. Later, Rezaul Karim Raju met with the leaders and activists of nine unions of the upazila and paid tribute by offering flowers to the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Rezaul Karim Raju said, "After a long time, we are grateful to Bangabandhu's daughter Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving the boat flag to this constituency. Also, I will give the victory of Boat in Rangpur 1 constituency through a peaceful and competitive election, Insha'Allah." He also said that since there is no member of parliament from the government party in Gangachara upazila for a long time, the upazila residents including Char residents have been deprived of the desired development. For the development of communication, health and education of the people of Char, it is necessary to take the special initiative of the people's representative and implement it. But the development of Gangachra is due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Sheikh Hasina bridge on the Teesta river in Mahipur is playing a role in improving the quality of life of these people.

Along with this, the people of this upazila surrounded by the river will move forward through the implementation of the Teesta master plan. Rezaul Karim Raju also said that the people of this constituency have united today to build the desired development and smart Gangachara. They are waiting to win the boat with a large number of votes on January 7.
