Dipan Talukdar, Chairman of the Rangamati Hill District Council, has expressed optimism about developing Rangamati into a well-planned and attractive tourist city.
 
He made these remarks on Monday  at 5 PM during an exchange of views and greetings with local journalists held at the District Council's conference room.
 
Also present at the meeting were the District Council's Chief Executive Officer Khandakar Muhammad Rezaul Karim and Council members Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Tofazzal Hossain, Bitu Chakma, Shashwata Chakma Rinku, Suparna Deb Barman, Trimati Kheyang, Prema Talukdar, Uthai Mong Marma, and Paising Mong Marma.
 
Outlining the Council's future development plans, Chairman Dipan stated that the education and health sectors would be given top priority in the overall development of the hill district. He also announced initiatives to construct cold storage facilities to ensure the proper preservation of produce grown by local farmers and to boost economic dynamism.
 
He added, "The District Council is working to transform Rangamati into a full-fledged, modern tourist city by leveraging its immense natural beauty. Realizing this goal requires the cooperation of people from all walks of life, including journalists."
 
Journalists representing various electronic, print, and online media outlets operating in Rangamati attended the meeting.
