Rangamati DC urges traders to do business with honestly

In order to solve these problems including food adulteration, increase in daily commodity prices, businessmen's ethics must be changed.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan said these in the chief guest's speech at the discussion meeting held on the occasion of National Consumer Rights Day 2024 celebration at Rangamati.

He said that food is being adulterated to such an extent that unhealthy adulterated food is acting as stoke poisoning. Cancer patients are increasing every year in the country. Kidney, lung, heart disease, liver problems are only due to food adulteration.

He said, it is said in Islam, honest businessman will get the status of martyr after death. In all religions it is said to do business with honesty and to serve humanity. He requested businessmen to do business honestly.

On Friday at 11 am, the district administration organized a rally and discussion meeting with the theme 'Smart Bangladesh Gari, Use of Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of the consumer'.

Speakers on the occasion urged to collect extra CNG fare from passengers in the district and increase strict vigilance on medicine vendors and medical system.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Saiful Islam, Assistant Director National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate Rana Deb Nath, District Food Controller Kaniz Jahan Bindu, Chamber of Commerce Director Md Moniruzzaman Mohsin, Banrupa Bazar Traders Association President Abu Saeed and business leaders were present on the occasion.

Before this, the colourful procession that left the District Commissioner's office and circled the various roads of the city.
