With the theme “The Glow of Teaching Lies in Collective Effort,” World Teachers’ Day 2025 was celebrated in Morrelganj upazila of Bagerhat through a colourful rally and discussion meeting.
On the occasion, a rally organized by the Upazila Administration and the Upazila Education Family started from the Upazila Parishad premises at 10 a.m. on Sunday, and paraded through various streets of the town before returning to the same venue.
Later, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Administration conference room, conducted by Principal Maulana Abdus Salam. The program began with a welcome speech by Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Shahidul Islam.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Habibullah attended the event as the chief guest, while valiant freedom fighter Gias Uddin Talukder was present as a special guest.
Among the teachers who spoke on behalf of the teaching community were Principal Dr. Ruhul Amin, Acting Principal Md. Mizanur Rahman, Principal Maulana Abdul Bari, Principal Abdul Alim Howlader, Head Teacher Yunus Ali Akon, Md. Amir Hossain Dulal, Superintendent Abdus Sobhan, Head Teacher Md. Belayet Hossain, Superintendent Bellal Hossain, and Maulana Haru Ar Rashid, among others.
Speakers emphasized the need to improve the quality of education in the upazila, uphold the dignity of teachers, and ensure their rightful benefits. They urged everyone to come forward and work collectively for the betterment of education and the welfare of teachers.
