RAB arrests arms dealer with guns

RAB-5 arrested an arms dealer with ten one shooter guns from Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi.
A raiding party of RAB-5, Mollapara camp conducted a raid in Alaipur area under Bagha police station district of Rajshahi at 4.30 am on May 29.
RAB-5 said by a press release on Wednesday morning that based on intelligence information, the alert raiding team came to know that Abdur Rashid Bapari (36) was staying with a large amount of weapons and drugs in his house in Alaipur Napitpara village under Bagha upazila.
Later, RAB arrested the accused in their house and searched to recovered 10 one-shot guns. The arrested person is son of Ainul Bapari village Pakshi (Guard Bank Para) under Ishradi Thana district of Pabna. Initial interrogation revealed that he is a notorious arms dealer. He is a private driver by profession.
Accused said, he spread his dominance in the area and kept it in his possession with the aim of creating anarchy including drug trade. In the past, illegal drugs were caught by the law and order forces several times due to drug trade.
This is the largest consignment of illegal arms seized in North Bengal in recent times. RAB-5 confirmed that a case has been submitted against him at Bagha police station under Arms Act.
