RAB-14, Mymensingh arrested Delwar and Daulat, accused in the case of gang-rape of a madrasa student in Kalmakanda, Netrakona, from Latifpur area of Mirzapur upazila of Tangail.

RAB-14, Mymensingh Deputy Director Operations Officer Md. Anwar Hossain confirmed this in a press release sent to local journalists on Saturday afternoon. RAB said in a press release that the victim is a ninth grade student of a female madrasa.

On the way to and from the madrasa, the accused often teased him and used obscene language. When the matter was told to the parents through the female UP member, Monir Mia's family members got angry with the victim's mother along with the UP member.

On November 11, 2023, during the altercation, accused Monir Mia and his family members beat up the victim's mother and injured the UP member. On hearing the news, the victim along with her neighbors went to the spot and rescued the victim's mother and the female UP member and brought them to the neighboring house. At that time, when the victim went home to take her mother's clothes, the accused grabbed the victim's face and took her to the nearby paddy field and gang-raped her.

The victim's family members came forward and took him to the Kalmakanda Upazila Health Complex. Later, referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. In this incident, the victim himself became the plaintiff and made a written complaint in the court accusing the names of 03 people and t others as defendants. Later on December 9, the court took cognizance of the complaint and directed the Kalmakanda police station to register a case. Since the incident, the accused were absconding in disguise.

In view of this, through the collection and analysis of various data, a raiding team led by RAB-14, Sadar Battalion Operations Officer Deputy Director Md. Anwar Hossain conducted an operation on Friday night in Tangail district. Delwar Hossain (22) and Daulat Mia (23) were arrested from Latifpur area of Mirzapur police station.

The arrested accused were handed over to Kalmakanda police station in Netrakona district on Saturday.
