Purnima completes 26 years in film industry

Country’s popular film actor Purnima has completed 26 years of his acting career recently. The versatile artiste, who has won the hearts of millions with her fabulous acting style, started her film carrier with Zakir Hossain-directed movie “E Jibon Tomar Amar” on 15 May 1998.

Since then, she has acted many popular movies.

Dilara Hanif Rita, popularly known by her stage name Purnima, was born on 11 July 1981. Purnima earned huge acclamation from the audience for her role in the Indian-Bangladeshi film “Moner Majhe Tumi”. The movie was released in 2003 and popular actor Riaz Ahmed acted opposite her in the movie.

Her notable performance includes “Megher Por Megh”, “Shami Strir Juddho”, “Hridoyer Kotha”, “Akash Chhoa Bhalobasa”, “Poran Jai Jolia Re”, “Matir Thikana”, “I love you”, “Shubha”, “Judge Barrister Police Commissioner” and “Ora Amake Bhalo Hote Dilo Na”.

She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film ‘Ora Amake Bhalo Hote Dilo Na’ (2010), written and directed by Kazi Hayat.

On the work front, Purnima-starrer film “Ahare Jiban” directed by Chhatku Ahmed was released in theatre on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Ferdous Ahmed played opposite her in the government-granted film.

Recently, Purnima has become a member of Bangladesh Film Censor Board.
