Public hearing, submission of petition with Public Health Engineer for safe drinking water in Koyra

Another name for water is life. If the water is not safe, it becomes a cause of death along with health problems. Water scarcity is currently a global crisis. Gradually this crisis is intensifying and due to the effect of climate change this crisis is spreading in different parts of the world.
There is a long-standing shortage of fresh water in Koira, the coastal region of the country. The crisis has intensified after the devastation caused by Cyclones Sidor and Aylar, Ampan, Foni, Bulbur, Sitrang. Water sources were damaged by the cyclone, which have not yet fully recovered.
A public hearing and petition submission ceremony has been held with the Public Health Engineer's Office for water tanks to collect and store rainwater in Khulna's Koira surrounded by Sundarbans.
On Monday 9 (September) at 11 am, the hearing was held in the hall room of the Upazila Public Health Engineer in the organization of Dorp Evolve project.
Under the chairmanship of Upazila Deputy Assistant Public Health Engineer Istiaq Ahmed and Dr. Harunar Rashid, Field Facilitator of DROP EVOLVE project, Mr. Moniruzzaman, representative of Sushil Samaj, Journalist Farhad Hossain, Alimuzzaman, Ziaur Rahman, Saidur Rahman, Tapas Mandal, Prakriti Gain, Sapna spoke in it. Rani, Khadija Khatun, Rashida Khatun, Madhavi Shayanti and Sabana Akhter, Sajeda Khatun. .
The event discussed various aspects to ensure that everyone in the area gets the necessary safe and clean drinking water And representatives of 4 unions of civil society handed over copies of petitions and mass letters on behalf of ultra-poor families.
