The allegations of using mercenaries in the treatment of patients of Chilmari Upazila Health Complex in Kurigram district is not a new thing. There have been several complaints about various activities including infrastructure, medical services and medicine in this hospital.

It is learnt that the upazila health complex with 50 beds has 26 doctor posts but currently health and P.P. 8 doctors including officers are working. Among them, the responsibility of the resident medical officer Dr. Rabiul Islam claims to be in Chilmari on the phone even though he stays in Rangpur most of the time. In this opportunity, medical services are provided to tenant patients at various times. Instead of getting well, the patients are suffering.

On the ground, after visiting the hospital on Saturday, it was seen that a young man named Tajuddin is sitting on the doctor's chair in the emergency department. When asked, he claimed to be a DMF student. He was asked by the hospital authorities to perform duty in the emergency department at night. He also said that sometimes he fulfills this duty. There are also allegations that the doctors of the hospital are deceiving patients by creating a list of roster names for their own benefit.

The presence of the journalists felt the presence of doctors in the emergency department of the night roster. Abu Hassan Shahriar came to Rifat Hospital and got into an argument with journalists.

Meanwhile, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Rabiul Islam said on the phone that Dr. Tajuddin was left for a while. Rifat went to have dinner. When the RMO asked Mr. to come to the emergency department, he claimed that he was in the quarters instead of in Chilmari. Despite repeated calls, he did not come to the emergency department. He said that he was staying in Kurigram at one stage of talking on the phone.

Upazila Health and P. P. Officer Dr. Md. Aminul Islam said, Dr. Tajuddin was kept for some time due to Rifat's personal problems. He also said that such work will not happen in the future.

Dr. Civil Surgeon Kurigram A Morshed said, if written complaint is given to the office, necessary action will be taken.
