Protest in Rangamati demanding release of kidnapped CU students

Protests and rallies were held in Rangamati demanding the unconditional release of five abducted CU students and the trial of the rape of a student in Kaukhali, Rangamati on Sunday morning.
A procession started from the city's Kumar Sumit Roy Gymnasium ground under the banner of the Rangamati Indigenous Students' Association. The procession went around Banarupa and met at the same place for the rally.
The protest rally was chaired by Sujan Chakma and addressed by Rangamati Government College student Himel Chakma Marin Tripura, General Secretary of Region A Bangladesh Indigenous Forum Intu Moni Chakma, Vice-President of Rangamati District Committee of Hill Women's Federation Kabita Chakma, and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Pahari Chhatra Parishad, Rumen Chakma.
At that time, the speakers complained that even after the Hill Tracts Accord, the government has not taken action against those who oppose the agreement, so incidents like extortion, clashes and kidnapping are not stopping in the hills.
The speakers demanded the immediate release of the students. In addition, the rally demanded the immediate arrest and trial of the culprits in the incident, alleging the rape of a Marma student in Kaukhali.
