Gaibandha Women and Children Welfare Organization has strongly protested and condemned a false, baseless, and malicious propaganda campaign carried out through a fake Facebook account targeting its General Secretary, social worker, and humanitarian activist Kaysar Plabon.

A written statement was read out on behalf of the organization during a protest meeting held on Monday at its temporary office in Hakkas Market, Gaibandha. The statement was presented by the organization's President and APP of the Gaibandha District Bar, Advocate Amirul Islam Foku.

In the statement, he said that an organized group has been deliberately using fake social media accounts to spread false and misleading videos by exploiting Kaysar Plabon’s name, identity, and photographs. The objective of this campaign, he alleged, is to damage his personal, social, and professional reputation.

According to the organization's leaders, at around 9:30 a.m. on August 2, a Facebook account named “Chomok TV” published completely fabricated and misleading information. After becoming aware of the matter, a GD was filed with Gaibandha Sadar Police Station, and legal action against those responsible is currently underway.

The statement demanded the immediate identification, arrest, and exemplary punishment of the individuals involved in the defamatory campaign. The organization also urged the public not to share or circulate any false, misleading, or unverified information on social media platforms.
Among those present were Vice-President Mushfiqur Rahman Ruman, Organizational Secretary Md. Nazim Ahmed Rana, Faisal Jony, Sanjay Saha, Mahabubur Rahman, Anjuara Begum, Sumi Akter, Piyas Hossain, and other leaders and members of the organization.

Later, a memorandum was submitted to the OC of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station, demanding swift legal action.
