Prof Sitesh Chandra appointed as DU pro-VC

Professor Dr Sitesh Chandra Bachar, the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Dhaka University (DU), has been appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor (academic) of the institution.
The Education Ministry on Thursday issued a gazette notification, signed Senior Assistant Secretary Shatarupa Talukder, following the order of President Mohammed Shahabuddin, , the chancellor of the university.
The tenure of his appointment will be four years from the date of his joining the office, read the circular.
Prof Sitesh Chandra is currently serving as the dean of Faculty of Pharmacy.
He is currently serving as the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy. He is also the convener of the Awami League-backed Blue Panel teachers’ platform at the university.
He joined in the Department of Pharmacy as a Lecturer in 1997. Before joining to the department, he received his BPharm (Hons) and MPharm degrees from the DU.
Bachar was awarded a PhD in Pharmacy from Jadavpur University in India in 1996.
