Press confce on attack of Anti-discrimination Student Movement leader in Koyra

A press conference was held to protest the attack and assault on Khalilur Rahman, main organizer of the Koyra Upazila Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Khulna Upazila, and to demand justice for the culprits at Koyra Press Club at 11 am on Tuesday.
In a written statement to the press conference, Khalilur Rahman, who was injured in the attack, said, "On the night of April 5, I boarded a launch from the Jor Singh launch ghat in Koyra, adjacent to my house, and left for Khulna district town. When I arrived at a ghat after the launch, 14/15 people suddenly boarded the launch and ambushed me. They beat me up and took me off the launch. Then they took me to a secluded place on a motorcycle at gunpoint.
They kept me there and demanded a ransom of one lakh taka. Then I asked my family for one lakh taka on my mobile phone and informed them about their whereabouts. As a result of my location, they got scared and took the thirty thousand taka cash I had and left me on the side of the road.
He also said, after learning about the matter, my family members rescued me. After receiving first aid, I filed a case at Koyra Police Station. I had seen some of the attackers with Chhatra Dal leaders and activists earlier. I demand their immediate arrest.
Koyra Upazila leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement were present.
