Muhammad Nuruzzaman Liton, Assistant Secretary of Rajshahi District Jamaat-e-Islami and party MP candidate for Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur) constituency, said that in addition to giving due respect to the martyrs of the July coup, the government should take responsibility for the families of the martyrs and provide better treatment to the injured.
He also said that in light of the demands of the students and the public, the "July Charter" must be announced by July.
He made these remarks while attending the prayer service in memory of the martyrs, injured and maimed in the July-August uprising organized as part of the central program by the Puthia Upazila Jamaat at the Puthia Islamia College hall on Tuesday afternoon.
Nuruzzaman Liton also said at the time, "The sacrifice of the martyrs of the July-August Uprising is forever remembered in the history of the country. Their ideals inspire us to move forward."
The meeting was chaired by Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maulana Manzur Rahman and moderated by Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Professor Mansurul Haque Montu. Among others present were Upazila Nayeb-e-Ameer Hafez Maulana Yusuf Ali Mirza, Upazila Jamaat Assistant Secretary Principal Abdul Mannan, Puthia Municipality President Enamul Haque, Union President Professor Anwar Hossain, former District Jamaat Executive Committee Member Prof Habibur Rahman and Principal Masum Zubair.
