Prayer, discussion in Pirojpur to commemorate July Uprising Martyrs, injured

A prayer gathering and discussion meeting were held in Pirojpur to honor the martyrs of the July Uprising and pray for the recovery of the injured  on Friday morning  at the Shaheed Omar Faruq Auditorium in the town, organized by the local activist group July Warriors Pirojpur.

Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Pirojpur, attended the event as the chief guest. The program was presided over by the convener of the organization, Kazi Md. Abu Hanif, while member secretary Tahmid Al Nasib conducted the session.

Heartfelt speeches were delivered by members of the families of the martyrs, including the father of Shaheed Hafizul Sikder and the wife of Shaheed Rafiqul Islam. Their emotional reflections moved the audience deeply.

Special guests at the discussion included  Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT),  Major Ishraq Rahman, Army Camp Commander, Dr. Md. Motiur Rahman, Civil Surgeon,  Mamunur Rashid, UNO of Sadar Upazila and  Prof  Alomgir Hossain, Convenor of Pirojpur District BNP,  Adv  S.M. Rezaul Islam Shamim, President of Pirojpur Press Club, Maulana Muhammad Yahya Howlader, District President of Islami Andolon, Zahirul Islam, Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, Imran Khan, President of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Md. Mohibullah, President of Islami Chhatra Andolon’s college unit

Several of the injured victims also spoke, including Fahad Sikder, Soaib Ahmed, Khandakar Jubayer Ahmed, Md. Jasim Uddin, Palash Hossain, Forkan Uddin, Md. Sakin Islam, Md. Mohibullah, and Hridoy Talukder.

From among the student activists, speeches were given by Redwanul Islam, Jannatul Ferdous Roshni, and Ariful Islam Sardar.

Speakers emphasized that “the month of July is a glorious chapter in Bangladesh’s history. In the post-independence crisis, those who took to the streets out of love for the country made sacrifices the nation will forever honor. This event is an effort to present that often-forgotten history to the younger generation and inspire them.”

The program concluded with special prayers for the souls of the martyrs and the recovery of the injured.
