An insurance claim check handover and business review meeting was held at Shibchar, Madaripur, at the initiative of Popular Life Insurance PLC.

The meeting was held at the Development Service Cell of Shibchar Upazila on Saturday (August 15). In addition to handing over cheques for insurance customers' claims, the organization's business activities, service activities and future business expansion were reviewed at the event.

Shibchar Upazila BNP convener Shahadat Hossain Khan was present as the chief guest at the event. Md. Atiqur Rahman, General Manager of Al-Amin Ekal Bima Project of Popular Life Insurance, Md. Zia Uddin, Project In-charge of Islamic Bima Takaful Project, and Mahbubur Rahman Litu Sardar, Chairman of Boro Gopalpur Union Parishad of Jajira in Shariatpur district, were special guests.

The meeting was presided over by Md. Ilias Hawlader, DGM of Popular Life Insurance's Development Department and Development Service Cell In-charge of Islamic Insurance Takaful Project.

The event focused on the issue of paying insurance customers' claims. At the same time, discussions were held among the stakeholders on mobilizing insurance activities at the field level, enhancing customer service, and progressing business activities.

Popular Life Insurance PLC has been operating in the country's insurance sector for a long time through its various insurance products and customer service activities. According to the company's own data, by the end of 2024, the company had paid more than Tk 62,616 crore in various insurance claims and has been serving a large number of policyholders.

Earlier, there were precedents of Popular Life organizing business development and review meetings in various parts of the country, along with handing over insurance claim checks. In these events, expired insurance claim checks were handed over to customers and business activities were reviewed.

Through this arrangement in Shibchar, on the one hand, emphasis has been placed on further expanding Popular Life's business and customer service at the local level, along with advancing the claim settlement activities of insurance customers, said those concerned.
