Police set to thwart chaos in the name of political programmes

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said that the police force is set to thwart any chaos in the name of political programmes.
“Any political party can hold its peaceful programme. If anybody disrupts peace and order, and creates fear among people, every unit of Bangladesh Police is ready to combat.”
Responding to a reporter question, the IGP said this at the annual police meeting and sports competition at Narayanganj Police Lines ground in Narayaganj on Monday.
The chief of the police force has said that the force has to face new, new challenges every day and it has the ability and experience to combat so.
Senior police officers were present on the occasion.
