
Police-Chhatra Dal Clash in Habiganj: 10 Injured

At least 10 people, including two policemen, were injured in a clash between ChhatraDal leaders and activists in Habiganj on Monday.
Two policemen were seriously injured and treated at Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
At that time, the agitated Chhatra Dal leaders and activists vandalized a police pickup van. In this regard, Habiganj Sadar police station officer-in-charge Ajay Chandra Dev said that the Chhatra Dal leaders and activists suddenly attacked the patrolling police car.
Later, 57 rounds of rubber bullets and 5 rounds of tear gas were fired to bring the situation under control.
Locals said that on Monday (January 1) around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists held a rally for the anniversary of the establishment of Shaistanagar area of the city. At that time, when the police intervened, a clash broke out between them. During the clash, 10 people including two policemen were injured.
At one point during the clash, agitated Chhatra Dal leaders and activists vandalized a police pickup van. Additional police reached the spot and chased them after receiving information about the end of the clash. Till the writing of this report, the police operation is going on to catch those involved in the clash.
