PM opens metro rail's Agargaon-Motijheel part

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the second phase of the much-desired metro rail service from Agargaon to Motijheel on Saturday.
The prime minister inaugurated the Agargaon-Motijheel section from Agargaon station at 2.30 pm.
After the inauguration, the prime minister along with the high officials within the government, takes the metro rail to Motijheel for another inaugural programme at the Motijheel end.
While talking to the media, the prime minister expressed her complete satisfaction with the swift implementation of the metro rail projects. She also extended her gratitude to the people involved in the project's execution.
Metro
The commuters will be able to take the train from Uttara to Motijheel from November 5 and the metro rail will stop at Farmgate, Secretariate and Motijheel stations initially on the Agargaon-Motijheel section.
On the Uttara-Motijheel route, the metro will run daily from 7:30 am to 11:30 am from November 5 and it will be stopped on the
Motijheel-Agargaon route after 11:30 am while it will operate up to 8:30 pm in Uttara-Agargaon section.
The prime minister inaugurated the first phase of the first-ever metro rail from Uttara to Agargaon on December 28.
The premier is also scheduled to inaugurate the construction work of MRT Line-5 (Northern route), which will be a 20-km line from Hemayetpur to Bhatara via Gabtoli, Mirpur-10, Gulshan.
The deadline for completing the project with cost of Tk 41,239 crore is 2028.
