Plantation campaign inaugurated in Faridpur to mark 'Primary Education Medal 2026'

As part of Prime Minister’s nationwide plantation initiative to mark the 'Primary Education Medal 2026', a tree plantation campaign has been officially inaugurated at a government primary school in Faridpur on Wednesday on the premises of the 100 No. Bhatilakshmipur Government Primary School in Faridpur Sadar Upazila.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Acting Government Primary Education Officer of Faridpur Sadar Upazila, Sushanta Kumar Barai, and hosted by Upazila Assistant Primary Education Officer Krishna Chandra Chakraborty. The Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur, Mazharul Islam, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Shahriar Mohammad Miazi, Superintendent of Police, Meshkatul Jannat Rabeya, UNO, Prof Abdut Tawab, Shura Member of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Committee, Bishnupada Ghoshal, District Education Officer, A.K.M. Towfikur Rahman, Assistant District Primary Education Officer and Mohammad Mozammel Haque, Senior Information Officer were present.


Teachers, students, guardians, and various officials from the education department were also in attendance. During the campaign, a variety of fruit-bearing, timber, and medicinal saplings were planted across the school grounds.

Speaking at the event, the guests emphasized that this initiative plays a vital role in inspiring students to protect the environment and transforming schools into green, eco-friendly spaces.
