Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Ashraful Alam Khan has arranged a shop along with goods for employment for Imam Hossain, who was injured in Shahbagh during the July Revolution in Nesarabad, Pirojpur.

Imam Hossain is the son of the late Md. Afsar Uddin of Mahmudkathi village, ward no. 4, Atghar Kuriana Union, Nesarabad Upazila.

On Monday (January 27), at around 5 pm, Nesarabad Upazila Executive Officer (acting) and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Raihan Mahmud handed over the keys of the shop along with the goods of the grocery store to the Imam on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner.

It is learned that he was injured in a police lathicharge in Dhaka's Shahbagh on July 11 during the anti-discrimination student movement. At that time, his left hand was broken. Later, when he applied to the Pirojpur District Commissioner for employment arrangements, the District Commissioner arranged a house for him with the help of the Upazila Executive Officer.

Md. Imam Hossain, who was injured in the July Revolution after receiving a shop with goods, said, "On July 11, the student movement against discrimination was going on. When I reached Dhaka Shahbagh Square from Nawabpur for masonry work, the police suddenly and recklessly charged me with batons. I was seriously injured by the baton and at one point my arm was broken. I cannot do heavy work now, so the District Commissioner arranged employment for me. With the grace of the government, I will now be able to survive with my family."

Nesarabad UNO (Acting) and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Raihan Mahmud said, "In continuation of the creation of a new Bangladesh through the injured in the student movement in the July Revolution, I have arranged a shop for Imam Hossain for employment in Nesarabad Upazila, on the instructions of the District Commissioner, by giving him some goods." Such activities will continue under the guidance of the District Commissioner.
