Established in 1892, Patuakhali Municipality was once a remote area for the people of the country. In this city surrounded by rivers, the way of people's movement was not very smooth.

There was no attraction among the people to live in the city unless it was absolutely necessary. With the touch of modernity, the image of Patuakhali municipal city is now the opposite. Apart from the regular residents, thousands of visitors come every day from far and wide to enjoy the beauty of this city.

The craftsman of all these is the young, tasteful and shaper of development, the current mayor Mohiuddin Ahmed. In the last three years, this dilapidated city has been transformed into a beautiful modern city. The praise of this tasteful mayor has spread from country to country. The development and modernity of Patuakhali city is now in the mouth of people all over the country.

A wide four-lane road from the city entrance ends at Sheikh Russell Shishu Park. The lamp posts of the road dividers and different species of flowers and trees, indigenous and foreign, are a sight to behold. Despite the wide road, there are two more wide roads for pedestrians on both sides.

Within the municipal city there are many other eye-catching places including Jhowtla, Polytechnic Lake, Old Jail Khana Lake, Sheikh Russel Shishu Park and the newly added Shahid Minar, the second largest in the country. And all these things have a touch of modernity. Colorful Patuakhali at night is more exciting and spectacular than day.

It can be seen that Kuakata travelers often spend hours and hours entering the city by taking buses, microbuses, motorbikes. Some take the prepared food and go to the destination after having dinner inside the illuminations in the pleasant atmosphere of the night city. Newly wedded couples from far and wide come to Rupnagar to have a thrilling time and take pictures. Some families, friends gather together to make this city happy.

Due to the travelers, the fortunes of the small traders have returned. Beautifully designed and colorful tong shops, fuchka, chatpati, pickles, chocolates, or high-quality food shops are always crowded. Due to the traffic of visitors, the income of autorickshaw drivers in the city has increased. Basically, because of being a modern city, the wheel of fortune has turned to all businessmen.

A few days ago, the well-known barrister Saidul Haque Sumon MP, who visited Patuakhali town, praised the development and said that the public representatives of every district of the country can learn from the modernity of Patuakhali.

A representative can change a town only if there is a will and a plan. Development doesn't need money, it needs thinking power.

Patuakhali Municipality will be the most modern city in the country. Having traveled to different countries and accumulated experience and planning, I want to apply it in my city. If elected mayor again, I will be able to implement all my plans.
